Nazionale Call-Ups

Italy - Cameroon: Wed March 3, 2:45pm EST from the Stade Louis II (Monaco, France)

The highlight of this roster is the return of Marco Borriello. As long as he's healthy, he has every right to be going to South Africa. I think he's definitely been the most consistent Italian striker (when not injured) whose place to SA hasen't been cemented. We've seen what Gilardino, Iaquinta, and Toni bring in terms of consistency. I would say we need more come June however I believe Italy won the World Cup only four years ago with 10 different goal scorers. At the same time, if Marco wants to contribute a goal every game or so as is currently, I won't get mad.

I know this is only a mere friendly and not the final roster headed to the world cup, but I think its nice to see the Azzurri represented by 11 different Serie A clubs, none of which coming from the league leaders however understandably. By the way, the match will actually be played in France, as opposed to Italy or Cameroon. I'm sure the explanation for which will gain exposure as the match gets closer.
