Coppa Italia Final Preview // Giornata 36 Review

Coppa Italia Final
Internazionale vs Roma 1-0: Milito 40 (I)

While I am not Inter's biggest fan, Milito has to be my favorite player in Serie A. He's the only player in the league who would've scored that one. Inter now move their tally to 6 Coppa Italia titles while Roma remain at 9. Step one of the "treble" complete. Unfortunately I need to call out Totti for his idiotic behavior. Only piles on the negative reputation that both Roman clubs are receiving lately.

Giornata 37...

With only two rounds left, the scudetto may be decided with an Inter win. Up against Chievo at home, it looks likely for two trophies in two days. Not to be outdone, #4 Sampdoria go to #5 Palermo for what is essentially a CL playoff match. Also, all matches will be played on Sunday at 9:00am, for competitive reasons. You'll also see this during the world cup as well as both of each group's third match will be played at the same time (only 34 days away!).

With all matches at the same time, this is where the beauty of RAI's Giostra dei Gol comes in. While showing a match, they tune into every other match when a goal is scored. So it's the closest you get to watching all 10 matches at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend subscribing to the RAI channel.

Match of the Week:#12 Chievo @ #1 Internazionale SUN 9:00AM EST
This has to be a gimmie for Inter. As I said, scudetto up for the taking. Chievo havn't made much noise at all this season, settling for mediocrity.
(My Prediction: 0-2 Inter)

Standings...

#18 Atalanta @ #6 Napoli SUN 9:00AM EST Live on FSC and RAI
Atalanta with only a prayer of survival left. 5 points back, they need to win their last 2 and have either Bologna or Lazio lose their last 2.
(My Prediction: 0-1 Napoli)

#10 Bari @ #14 Udinese SUN 9:00AM EST
Nothing to see here, move along.
(My Prediction: 1-1)

#13 Cagliari @ #2 Roma SUN 9:00AM EST Live on FS+
Although it looks unlikely, Roma can let Inter take the title if they drop any points from here on out.
(My Prediction: 0-1 Roma)

#15 Catania @ #17 Bologna SUN 9:00AM EST
Bologna not safe yet. They've been flirting with relegation for the past 2 months or so so I wouldn't bet on them just yet.
(My Prediction: 3-2 Catania)

#16 Lazio @ #20 Livorno SUN 9:00AM EST
Lazio not quite safe yet. Already relegated Livorno should be the opportunity they need to seal the deal.
(My Prediction: 2-1 Lazio)

#3 Milan @ #8 Genoa SUN 9:00AM EST Live on ESPN3.com
Milan need to pull out some points if they want to go straight to the CL group stages. A win in Genoa would seal the deal.
(My Prediction: 2-1 Milan)

#11 Parma @ #7 Juventus SUN 9:00AM EST Live on ESPN3.com
Only two games left, Juve fans!
(My Prediction: 1-3 Juventus)

#4 Sampdoria @ #5 Palermo SUN 9:00AM EST
With a Champions League race as good as its been this season, it should come down to the two front runners on the 2nd to last day. This should be the match of the year.
(My Prediction: 3-2 Sampdoria)

#19 Siena @ #9 Fiorentina SUN 9:00AM EST
Again, nothing to see here. Move along. The fact that it's the Florentine derby makes no difference.
(My Prediction: 0-2 Fiorentina)
